     ETERNA ECUT 2100 ELITE Launch Ceremony

    On February 8, 2020, ETERNA held a new product launch ceremony in its Production Center for the newly developed ECUT 2100 automatic die-cutter.

    Dr. Johnson Xie, Managing Director of ETERNA and Mr. Weiguo. Li, Chief Design Engineer of the project, along with 400+ ETERNA employees attended this historical event.

    Dr. Johnson opened the ceremony by thanking R&D and production teams for their dedication to this project. “This is the largest flatbed die cutter we produce and it is also the largest die cutter designed by a Chinese team. We are very proud of our achievement and today shall set a milestone in our company history.” Dr. Johnson said.

    ETERNA produced the first generation 2100 more than 10 years ago and the design team was also led by Mr. Li. During the ceremony, Mr. Li offered his design concept and new features it incorporated. “We listened to our customers over the years and this new design reflected many excellent ideas from our customers.”

    Shanghai Eternal Machinery Co., Ltd. has successfully completed the acquisition of 70% of Yancheng HONGJING Machinery Technology Co., Ltd.,

    Shanghai Eternal Machinery Co., Ltd. has successfully completed the acquisition of 70% of Yancheng HONGJING Machinery Technology Co., Ltd., as a part of a strategy to successfully drive and continuously improve its existing portfolio of machines. With this partnership, ETERNA and HONGJING intend to leverage the strengths of both companies to drive innovation in the folder gluer business and to continue growing the business at international level also by scouting for new growth opportunities. 

    ETERNA and HONGJING intend to rely on the management and employees of HONGJING  to drive the business to the commonly agreed targets. ETERNA’s production of folder gluers will be transferred to HONGJING, increasing significantly the volume of machines produced in Dongtai. As such, HONGJINGwill become the competence center for folder gluers of ETERNA.

  4. The TA900 folder-gluer rounds out the equipment portfolio for Wallace Carlson Printing’s new custom packaging division

    Wallace Carlson Printing, a full-service provider of commercial printing and packaging solutions in Minnetonka, Minnesota, announced the addition of a Brausse TA900 folder-gluer to complement its growing repertoire of package production equipment. In recent years, Wallace Carlson has expanded its solutions portfolio to include custom folding carton production services for commercial customers, a move that resulted in a new packaging division.

     

    “We identified a need for short to medium folding carton runs and began carving out a niche for ourselves in the production of boutique-style packaging – though our equipment is anything but boutique,” said Charlie Cox, COO of Wallace Carlson Printing. “We have invested in equipment that rivals even what the largest folding carton manufacturers use, but we’re using our equipment investments to serve the shorter-run needs of our existing customers, and others like them.”

    Shoeburyness, UK-based Cumberland Packaging have recently taken delivery of their third Eterna flat bed die-cutter. Cumberland have run two Eterna die-cutters for a number of years and the work for these machines had increased so much that a third die-cutter was necessary, explains Ken Stolber, Sales Manager for M&K Trading, Eterna's UK sales agent. "John Watson, Managing Director of Cumberland had no hesitation in ordering the new Eterna PE1620SA Elite die-cutter which is capable of run speeds of 6,000 sheets per hour," says Mr Stolber. "The Installation was completed in a timely manner and Cumberland are delighted with the increase in performance and capacity that the machine has given them," he concludes.   7. Komori Corporation and Shanghai Eternal Machinery Co. Ltd (a member of BOBST group) enter into ODM agreement

    The Komori Corporation and Shanghai Eternal Machinery Co. Ltd(a member of BOBST group) have entered into an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) agreement.
    The agreement allows for the manufacture by Shanghai Eternal Machinery of a customized die-cutting machine and devices with Komori’s creative input and technical requirement for incorporation into Komori production line. Eiji Kajita, Director and Operating Officer of Komori Corporation said, “Shanghai Eternal is a highly respected designer and builder of die-cutting equipment.   8. Bobst Group, owner of 65% of Gordon Ltd since 2011 will exercise its option to purchase the remaining shares and Gary Tseng, former owner, remains Managing Director

    Bobst Group purchase from Gary Tseng

    Bobst Group announces that it will exercise before the end of the year its option to purchase from Gary Tseng the remaining 35% of the Gordon Ltd shares, the Hong Kong based holding company of Shanghai Eternal Machinery Co. Ltd.

    Gary Tseng will remain Managing Director in charge of the operations as before. Both parties have agreed not to disclose any information concerning the conditions of the transaction.

    Philippe Milliet, Head of BOBST Business Unit Sheet-fed and Member of the Group Executive Committee, said: "We are very happy with the development of Gordon during the past 5 years. Gordon has developed new products and reinforced his market position under the strong leadership and vision of Gary Tseng. We are looking forward continuing to take advantage, under an adapted governance due to change in shareholding, of the huge experience of Gary."
